ANTIDOTE

ANTIDOTE

In the midst of a world burdened by unbearable sadness, we united, screened a movie, adorned everyone with flowers, and reveled in the simple joy of eating with our hands, aiming to let go of the gloom, rediscover joy, and ever so slightly restore hope in our hearts.

Acknowledging the privilege of our planned escape, we chose Arranging Thing's wonderful showroom in Stockholm as the backdrop. Projecting Juzo Itami's cult-classic film, Tampopo (1985), in an olive-green satin draped space, we aimed to convey the film's main message on the power of community.

A Feast of Shared Experience

The film underscores the importance of collective collaboration, valuing individual skills and knowledge over blind trust in authority figures. We didn't aim for a passive audience; rather, we actively sought participants, welcoming guests with custom-made dried flower headpieces to integrate them into this immersive experience.

No Utensils.

Guests enjoyed a hands-on experience with no utensils, savoring every bite from sashimi to mushroom dumplings and pannacotta, connecting their senses to the entire journey of growing, transporting, making, and serving the dishes. Additionally, sharing other items

like sake, napkins, and seating fostered a communal atmosphere, and the evening concluded with slices of watermelon, symbolizing solidarity with those who may yearn for an antidote more than us in these challenging times.

Spreading the Antidote

As we bear witness to the reality of our world and stand up for our values, we also acknowledge our collective need for goodness, kindness, being seen, and heard. All event proceeds go to Anera, partnering with World Central Kitchen to exemplify the best of humanity, showcasing resilience and compassion where it's needed most. Join us in spreading this antidote, with the hope that love and kindness are not naive gestures but genuine contributors to lasting peace.

“It’s not possible to constantly hold onto crisis. You have to have the love, and you have to have the magic. That’s also life.”
