Nourishing Connections:
A Culinary Rebellion

Mise en Place came to life as
a result of two years of pandemic isolation and a strong desire to connect with a global community of creative individuals who share a passion for challenging the norm. The goal was to gather people together through food-based events, fostering the exchange of ideas and mutual inspiration for taking action, whether on a large or small scale, in personal or communal endeavours. The concept also emerged from a deep need for healing, for finding hope in life, and for refusing to succumb to the constant stream of challenges, setbacks, losses, tragedies, and suffering that we all encounter.

This endeavour was driven by unwavering optimism, the belief that life can be more meaningful even in the face of imperfections and seemingly insurmountable difficulties.

It stemmed from a fundamental conviction that, despite our lack of control over many aspects of life, we always retain the power to choose how we respond and react. This conviction remains at the core of Mise en Place—an unwavering belief in our agency to shape our experiences.

Contrary to the notion of striving for perfection, Mise en Place seeks to create an environment where it's perfectly acceptable to embrace and savour the goodness that life has to offer, even in its simplest forms, such as the pleasure of biting into a fresh tomato. We view the culinary foundations of Mise en Place as a catalyst and facilitator for this sense of freedom and fulfilment.
